The unique Shave Head Bulb-tite blind rivet looks like a solid rivet when installed.
It is set with a standard rivet gun and breaks high. Once set, the excess mandrel is nipped using the specialty RV 57 Side Nippers (#497609). The installation is then finished by using the HS310-5B Shaving Tool (#497608) to polish the rivet head. Once assembled, Shaved Bulb-tite blind rivet heads match the appearance of a solid rivet.
Benefits:
- High clamping capacity due to the large footprint of 3 folded legs formed on the blind side.
- Functions well in elongated/oversize holes.
- Optional washer provides water tightness under the head. (Denoted with a W at the end of the part number.)
